Baco da seta

Secondo una leggenda diffusa in Cina fu un’antica imperatrice a scoprire l’utilità del baco da seta, quando un bozzolo cadde in una tazza di tè bollente e lei districandolo si accorse che andava a formare un filo. Le pagine della storia di questo curioso animale attraversano lo spazio e il tempo fino a giungere a Cernobbio.

L’opera “Baco da seta” è stata accostata alle sculture della facciata di Villa Bernasconi, un unicum nel panorama artistico liberty lombardo del Novecento e richiama le numerose storie che preziosamente custodisco e racconto.

According to a Chinese legend, it was an ancient empress who discovered the utility of the silkworm when a cocoon fell into a cup of steaming tea and she found out that, by unravelling it, what was forming was a thread. Pages of history of this animal traverse space and time until it reached Cernobbio. The work “Baco da seta” is compared to the sculptures of the façade, an unprecedented example of Art Noveau in Lombardy that recalls numerous stories that I jealously keep and tell.
